Baby Norah - celebrating motherhood - day 5

BestOttawaBabyPhotographer.jpg

On the eve of Mother’s Day, another beautiful feature, the lovely Jenni along side her beautiful little girl Norah. Jenni shares a touching side to watching a sibling bond develop. Also just how precious the formation of this relationship is to the joyful side of motherhood. On the flip side, our emotions are mixed with our natural instinct to protect our little ones and this can fill our minds with worry.

In Jenni’s words she pulls together the leading questions 1) what is one thing your little ones do that melts your heart and 2) on the flip side, what could you really do without.

1. Norah is reserved.  She takes everything in and studies everyone.  Her smiles are expensive and she reserves them for very special moments and very special people, but everyday, my 2 year old son, Jonah, lights her up.  Their love for each other is precious.  I love how much they love each other. From day one, the 21 month age difference has meant Jonah and Norah are best-friends.  From the minute they wake up in the morning, they sing from their individual rooms, down the hall to each other.  Once they are side-by-side in their high chairs, they laugh and smile at each other.  Full on belly laughs.  At the end of the day, they read stories together, each cuddled up in nooks of my arms, holding hands.  They love to love each other and seeing their friendship blossom, melts my heart daily.

2. I love being a mom, but there are moments in each day that are taxing.  I never thought I would do so much laundry or wash so many dishes, but the real thing I could do without, is the worry.  I’ve worried about them daily since they were little poppy seeds in my belly.  Even though they are happy healthy, I’m always worrying about what they may need, what could make them happier, and what harm could come to them.  The worrying can be consuming sometimes, but I know I worry so much because of the bottomless love I have for them.

More features to be shared to celebrate motherhood tomorrow! Thank you to all my very lovely clients who has been emailing and sharing their journeys. xx
